I understand you are here because you have read the first McLaren novel, have heard about it, or have stumbled upon this website.  No matter how you arrived here, I’m glad you are here!

Speaking of McLaren…  I have gone very 21^st century and created a book trailer for Siren Song.  Viewing time runs about one minute forty-five seconds, so if you’d like to watch the trailer log on to www.crimespace.ning.com/profile/JoAHiestand.   Partway down the page there is a link to the video – it says Siren Song.  Click on that and it will take you to the video.  Not too shabby for a first effort, eh?

I have many book signings and talks coming up this fall.  If you can stop by, it’s your chance to get Siren Song autographed.  Also, I’ll be selling McLaren related items at the talks.  Nice things like ceramic tile coaster, bumper sticker, etc.  I’ve updated the yearly calendar that I sell to include McLaren this year.  Normally, as some of you may know, it’s Taylor & Graham, focusing on each month’s custom that pertains to that book.  Well, with McLaren around now, I had to incorporate him into the calendar pages, so the calendar now deals with photos of the places I went to that inspired me and ended up in the books.  I think it’s interesting to see the actual place and then to read in the book, see how it ended up.

With Swan Song, the second McLaren book finished and slated for publication in April 2011, I have plotted the third book.  Debating about three titles.   I had a super title but had to give that up, as I couldn’t come up with a plot about arson.  David and the retired coppers he spoke to never had an arson case resulting in murder, so there went that help!  Back to me and my brain – a disadvantage, I know, but that’s life.  McLaren gets into a real pickle in book three, but I have the utmost confidence that he will get out of it.

I have created a McLaren poster, which is for sale at $20 plus postage.  Measuring 15” x 22.5” it is full color and on nice heavy poster paper.  I like being able to see him – he gives me a feeling that justice will prevail and the world will be a little better place for his efforts.  I’ve got more photos of McLaren on my Facebook page Jo Hiestand-mystery author.  Talk about a fun photo shoot…  Wish I had been there.  In near-100+ weather and McLaren wearing a long sleeved Henley!
